Do Unto Others (DUO): Our Compassion Program

As a local cleaner right here in Marble, NC, I believe in treating our neighbors with the same kindness, respect, and compassion we’d want for ourselves and our own families.

Life can bring unexpected and overwhelming challenges—mental health struggles, escaping domestic violence, grieving the loss of a loved one, or facing circumstances that make everyday tasks feel impossible. When these hardships lead to neglected living spaces, it can deepen feelings of isolation, shame, or hopelessness. A clean, safe, and welcoming home shouldn’t be out of reach during tough seasons.

That’s why Wonderfully Maid Cleaning Services, LLC is honored to offer our Do Unto Others (DUO) Compassion Cleaning Program: free comprehensive home restoration cleanings for individuals and families in our local communities who are navigating these difficult times.

What the Program Includes

  • A full, thorough restoration clean customized to the home’s specific needs—deep cleaning, sanitization, decluttering support (where feasible), odor removal, and attention to every detail to create a healthier, calmer environment.
  • Compassionate, non-judgmental service from our caring mother-daughter team—we come with understanding, patience, and a genuine desire to help lighten your load.
  • No cost to qualifying recipients—our gift to the community as a way of giving back.

Monthly "Compassion Clean" giveaways for community members.

Educational tips on gentle home resets shared via social media and local spots.

Non-judgmental support with emphasis on empathy, encouragement, and emotional upliftment, helping recipients feel supported and hopeful without stigma.

Partnerships with Cherokee, Swain, Macon, Clay + Graham County Senior Centers, churches, and nonprofits for referrals.

Who Can Benefit?

This program is designed for individuals or families experiencing:

  • Mental health challenges (such as depression, anxiety, or other conditions that make maintaining a home difficult)
  • Recovery from domestic violence or intimate partner abuse
  • Grief and bereavement following the loss of a loved one
  • Overwhelming life circumstances (financial hardship, chronic illness, caregiving responsibilities, or other crises) that have led to neglected or unsafe living conditions

We proudly serve Cherokee County, and surrounding Western North Carolina areas, including Clay, Macon, Graham, + Swain counties, and nearby communities.

Shining Stars: Some of Our Cleaning Jobs

01/17

My "Why"

I wanted to start a compassion cleaning program in my cleaning business because I've seen firsthand how life's challenges - like illnesses, loss, financial hardship, or mental health struggles- can make it impossible for people to maintain a clean, safe home. As a business owner in a close-knot community like Marble, NC, I believe cleaning isn't just about surfaces; it's about restoring dignity, hope, and a fresh start. By offering free home transformations (deep cleans) to those in need, I can give back, build stronger community ties, and turn my skills into acts of kindness that truly change lives.

How to Get Involved!

Nominate

How to apply or refer someone: We handle every request with complete confidentiality and care. To get started:

  1. Reach out directly — Call or text Bridget at (828) 644-4181 or email Bridget@wonmaidllc.com
  2. Share a brief overview of the situation (no details required beyond what you’re comfortable sharing).
  3. We may ask for a simple referral or note from a trusted support person (such as a pastor, counselor, social worker, domestic violence advocate, grief support group leader, or healthcare provider) to help us prioritize and ensure we can assist safely and effectively.

All applications are reviewed compassionately and on a case-by-case basis. We aim to help as many people as possible, though availability depends on our volunteer capacity and scheduling.

A clean home can be a powerful first step toward healing, safety, and renewed hope. We’re here to help create that fresh start—one room, one surface, one act of kindness at a time.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out—you are not alone. We’d be privileged to serve you.
